Global translation service: Alfresco drives internationalization through technology partnership with Gengo

Maidenhead/Tokio/Braunschweig 20.03.2012. Gengo (https://gengo.com), one of the leading online providers of professional human translation services, and Alfresco, market leader in Open Source Enterprise Content Management Systems (ECMS), announce their global technology partnership today. By integrating Gengo’s translation service into the Alfresco software, Alfresco users will be able to order fast, cost-effective, and professional translations of any content stored in their ECMS.

Gengo is a human translation platform that allows users to get texts, documents, and complete websites translated. Gengo offers professional translation services in 15 languages – including many Western European languages, as well as Korean, Chinese, and Arabic. The portal has available over 4,500 qualified translators worldwide. Alfresco’s ECM-solution offers document management, web content management, workflow management, and records management.

Through a Gengo plug-in integrated into Alfresco´s software, users can within minutes submit content stored in the ECMS to get it translated by Gengo’s translators. Translated texts are then integrated at the correct location in the ECMS. Gengo supports all common text formats. The integration of Gengo’s platform into Alfresco’s software is being handled by fme based in Braunschweig. Full functionality will be available from April 2012.
