New Gengo plugin powers Drupal websites in 36 languages
With about 1,000,000 installations, including Twitter, The Economist, and even the White House, Drupal has become an extremely popular CMS, especially with global audiences.
So we’re very happy to announce that there’s now a way to translate content within Drupal. The TMGMT plugin built by MD Systems allows you to order Gengo translations, all within the Drupal management UI. This means you can offer your content in multiple languages easily, without having to manage translators or import and export content. With just a couple of clicks you can turn your English website into French or Spanish or whatever language you like.
Getting started is easy: Just install the TMGMT plugin and add Gengo as a “translator” within the options. Once completed, you’ll be able to order from Gengo. This gives you the power of over 8,000 qualified translators in 36 different languages, making it easy to go global.
Before paying for Gengo translations, you can try the plugin’s features by ordering free machine translation. This is a great way to test things for no cost.
When you are ready to begin ordering human translation, you’ll get an instant quote depending on the “nodes” (sections of site content) you have selected to translate. Once ordered, your translations will come back automatically as they are finished. You’ll get the same good quality and fast response time that Gengo offers everywhere. If you are not completely satisfied with your translation, you can request revisions straight from the Drupal UI, which gives you a one-on-one dialogue with your translator.
New functionality will be added in the future, including the ability to translate navigation items, updated text in existing articles, and a one-click option for new page translation.
Our integration with Drupal is just one of the ways that we’re trying to make localization faster, easier, and more affordable for everyday users. For other ways to localize, be sure to check out Phrase Strings for websites, and 3PlayMedia’s Video Translation for more.
