Quality automation improvements
When translating things like product descriptions, accuracy is key in ensuring the translation faithfully represents what’s being sold. Mistranslating a dress as being size 2 instead of 12 could spell disaster and customer dissatisfaction. Likewise, a missing HTML tag could ruin the description formatting, making it harder to read.
To avoid these sorts of mistakes, we’ve released a number of enhancements to Gengo’s validation system that automatically operate in the background to check and highlight potential issues while the translator works. Depending on the certainty and severity of the issue, we can prevent submission of the job until the translator resolves the problem.
We support the following validation checks, with many more in the pipeline:
- Misspelled word
- Missing glossary term
- Missing tag
- Missing triple bracket
- Missing number
- Extra number
- Incorrect number formatting
- Incorrect currency formatting
- Max. characters exceeded
- Empty target
At Gengo, improving translation quality by combining the experience of humans with machine automation is always at the forefront of our minds and is one of our core focuses for 2016.
