One thing that our users love about us is that they’re able to order any translation, big or small, at any time of day. We owe this to our diverse and fast-growing translator crowd.
In our latest Open Data release, for the first time we’re sharing information about our crowd and capacity, including:
- Where our translators come from (by country)
- How we balance language pair capacity through testing
- How many qualified vs. active translators we have (by month)
- Our translator acceptance rate (by month)
- Our most active language pair

Robert Laing
Robert is one of Gengo's co-founders. He was born in Australia, and has lived in Melbourne, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Before founding Gengo, Rob was a designer and programmer, working for companies like Last.fm, The Brand Union and Dare Digital in London. Robert speaks enough Japanese to get into trouble, but not enough to get out.
