The numbers keep soaring!
NOVEMBER 2016 – In October, our community set a new monthly record by translating 21.5M units. In November, we did it again! This time, a whopping 24,525,311 words and characters were translated across 71 language pairs. Go team!
Volume in top 10 language pairs
Volume distribution among the top 10 language pairs was more equal in November, with eight language pairs exceeding the 2.0 million unit mark. Japanese to English led in language pair volume, translating over 2.6 million units, and English to Japanese overtook English to French to claim the second highest volume spot.
Pickup time
Despite the increase in volume, pickup times improved in November to 107 minutes, meaning that 95% of jobs were claimed and started by a translator well within 2 hours after they were ordered by the customer. That’s lightning fast! We’re happy to see that translator activity is on the rise and hope we can continue to keep the community busy and active with more projects!
Quality score
The average quality score in November was 9.14 out of 10, a 0.02 point increase from October. This makes November the third consecutive month where we’ve seen quality improvements and we hope to continue this trend. We also published our first blog post dedicated to quality – The three-step translation process. If you have any general questions about Gengo’s quality expectations or would like help with a low quality score you’ve received, post in the Translator Forums to get help from the community and our quality team.
Congratulations to the entire community for another fantastic month. As we near the end of 2016, we want to thank all of our amazing translators for a hugely successful year. Without the community, there is no Gengo. Have a wonderful holiday season and we’ll see you in 2017!
Happy translating!
